The Soft Life Starts with Self-Care Sundays
For years, I thought “self-care” meant expensive spa days or tropical getaways.
But I’ve come to learn that self-care can be as simple as baking cornbread in your favorite robe on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
The soft life isn’t about luxury—it’s about intention.
It’s making time for stillness. It’s slow mornings with gospel music playing while a pot of greens simmers on the stove.
It’s drinking your tea while it’s still hot. It’s lighting a candle that smells like vanilla and letting the day unfold softly, gently, and with grace.
In Tee’s Kitchen & Bakery, I celebrate Self-Care Sundays as a sacred rhythm.
Not every Sunday is glamorous. Some are spent meal prepping in mismatched pajamas with flour in my hair. But every one of them is rooted in love.
Sometimes I start with banana bread. Other times, it’s a soulful breakfast for one—grits, eggs, and a little peace on the side.
And always, always, I pause for this scripture:
“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Because soft living is rest. It’s resistance to burnout. It’s the decision to slow down, breathe deep, and choose joy in the ordinary.
So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to put yourself first today—this is it.
You are worthy of peace, even if it starts with biscuits and jam.
