A Seat at My Table: What Hospitality Means in Tee’s Kitchen

In my kitchen, there’s always room for one more.

Growing up, I watched my grandma open her home to everyone—from neighbors who just needed a hot meal to church friends who showed up unannounced with stories to share. Her kitchen table, always draped with a lace cloth and lined with casserole dishes, was more than a place to eat. It was a ministry.

Hospitality, to me, isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. It’s in the way you set a plate for someone who didn’t expect to stay. It’s how you light a candle, play some music, and make folks feel like they belong.

At Tee’s Kitchen & Bakery, I carry that legacy forward. Whether I’m prepping soul food Sundays or baking a pie just because, I believe every meal is a chance to show love, honor heritage, and serve others with grace.

There’s a verse that sits framed on my kitchen counter:

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some have entertained angels without knowing it.” – Hebrews 13:2

That’s my reminder that even the simplest invitation—“Come sit with me”—can hold sacred weight.

So whether you’re coming for the banana pudding, the cornbread muffins, or just the peace that comes from being in a space filled with warmth and prayer—you’ll always have a seat at my table.

Because here, hospitality isn’t an event. It’s a way of life.
